Title: No More Silence, Vol. 2
Artist: Austin Musicians for Transformative Justice
Label: Bandcamp
Format: Digital
Release Date: July 3, 2020

As a part of the city of Austin, Texas’ response to the recent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless black lives lost to police brutality, Austin Musicians for Transformative Justice was founded by Kate Robberson and Ley Line. On No More Silence, Vol. 2, the project brings together over 30 Austin-based artists who use their music to contribute to the conversation around social justice and Black Lives Matter.

This newest release via Bandcamp is the second volume created by the project after they received an outpouring of enthusiasm and submissions for volume one. Spanning a wide array of genres, Austin Musicians for Transformative Justice uses its platform to amplify the voices of Black artists like R&B singer-songwriter Tje Austin (“I Can’t Breathe”), blues-rock guitarist Jackie Venson (“Transcends”), and psychedelia soul blues band Kalu and The Electric Joint (“Slipping Away”).

The artists are donating 100% of the proceeds from No More Silence Vol. 2 to the Austin Justice Coalition, a racial justice group that educates and builds community in service of BIPOC living in Austin. The compilation album will be available for one year through Bandcamp.
